"Leaves and flowers look particularly lovely when painted with gouache. I painted the design on a hot summer day and the greenery of the trees outside inspired me to mimic the serene atmosphere in my garden. I painted a few different species of tree leaves and then moved my work to my computer to edit the colour and arrangement."
